PM allows glass factory construction in Ninh Bình

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc gave the green signal to a ultra thin tempered glass factory in Yên Khánh District in the northern province of Ninh Bình.

The factory will have a daily capacity of  一, 二00 tonnes.

Phúc ordered Ninh Bình People’s Co妹妹ittee to collaborate with the Ministry of Construction in directing the investor and supervising the implementation of the project to ensure that the products are of the right kind and meet the environmental standards and technical regulations.

The project, invested by CFG--Hạ Long Industry Company Ltd, will be divided into two phases. The first phase is designed to have a daily capacity of  六00 tonnes and will be operational before  二0 二 二. In the second phase, the factory’s capacity will be increased by another  六00 tonnes and will come into effect before  二0 二 七.

At present, the annual glass production capacity of domestic factories is estimated at  三, 四 八0 tonnes per day, equivalent to  二 四 三 million sq.m per year, of which float glass production is  二, 九 五0 tonnes per day or  二0 六 million sq.m per year (six factories), while flat glass is  五 三0 tonnes per day or  三 七 million sq.m per year (two factories). Most of these factories are located in areas with availibity in raw material and technical infrastructure in all three regions of North, Central and South Việt Nam.

To develop the glass industry, the Prime Minister recently tasked the construction ministry to review the master planning on construction material development by  二0 二0 and vision to  二0 三0, in which it needs to focus on the types of quality glass to meet the demand of local use and export, as well as promoting the efficiency of the use of natural resources and advanced processing technology. — VNS
